A very brief note from our founder, lisa wise

"I lived in 23 different spaces by the time I got to the University of Arizona. 

Housing insecurity shaped my life, and caring for others in their homes framed my life of purpose. I understood having a home of my own was the path to security.  At just 25, I inherited a car (that's a long hard, beautiful story I told in a book). Short version: I sold the car, and bought an adobe duplex in Downtown Tucson, Arizona. Two mud homes in one mud building. I was in charge of the whole shebang. 


An owner, a landlady, a business woman. The trifecta I dreamed of as a little girl.

That adobe abode changed my life. And so many others. I understood tending to that home, the person in it, and the community was my economic engine. Justice and profit can, and do, go hand in hand."
