What does it mean to be trusted with people’s homes and their housing decisions, in a moment like this?

It means showing up with care, clarity, and perspective. It means listening closely when the market shifts. And occasionally, it means being recognized by folks who are paying attention.

Last month, Nest DC was featured twice in the Washington Business Journal, and we’re proud of what that says about the kind of business we’re building.

First up: we were named #7 on WBJ’s list of the region’s largest LGBTQ+-owned companies. At a time when LGBTQ+ rights, safety, and representation are under pressure nationwide, this recognition feels especially meaningful. Our founder and Chief Nester, lisa wise, has built Nest from the ground up as a proudly LGBTQ+-owned company and to be listed alongside so many others leading with integrity, creativity, and resilience is an honor we don’t take lightly.

Then, our Chief Nester (and Boss Lady) lisa wise weighed in on the state of the rental market in DC — where demand is still high, but the story behind it is getting more complex. From remote workers returning to the region, to homeowners choosing to rent when they can’t sell, lisa offered insight into what’s actually happening behind the scenes.

In both stories, we’re proud to be part of that dialogue. And to be recognized not just for what we do, but for how we show up while doing it.
